The number of detected COVID-19 infections worldwide is increasing by thousands daily, pushing the total number of people battling or having recovered from the virus to over 44 million. Many believe the coronavirus has permanently altered the world, affecting what we consume, in what quantities, and in what forms. Our economy and every aspect of our lives are changing. It's a sobering thought, isn't it?
The latest figures from the second wave of the coronavirus paint a worrying picture, with the outbreak spiraling out of control in most countries and causing significant economic damage.
Most analysts predict that the global economy won't return to pre-crisis levels until 2022 or later. Among those surveyed, 36.4% expect economic performance to rebound by 2022, 19.4% foresee recovery in 2023, and 15.7% believe it will take even longer. Only 24.4% of respondents think a full economic recovery from the pandemic's impact is achievable by 2021.
