Definition of terms

The operator (further information: imprint and contact menu items) operates scifihir.hu (hereinafter: website), which allows registered users (hereinafter: users) to share comments on articles and positive or negative ratings on articles with each other and with visitors to the website (hereinafter: visitor), and also to correspond with each other through an internal messaging system. Use of the website is governed jointly by these terms of use and the privacy policy (hereinafter: policy).

Usage guideline

The user is obliged to use the website lawfully and in compliance with the applicable laws in force at all times, as well as the provisions of this policy.

General information

Registration is required to use the website's services. Successful registration requires reading and accepting the policy. The operator makes the policy available for anyone to read without restriction. Registration requires providing a few pieces of data: (Email address, Username, Password)

The operator may amend the policy unilaterally and displays the date of the last modification. The operator also notes changes to the policy under the version history menu item and sends an internal message about it. No other separate notice is given about this. It is the user's responsibility to familiarize themselves with any amended rules. By continuing to use the service after an amendment, the user accepts the amended policy. If they disagree with any point, they may consider accepting it or, alternatively, delete themselves from the system and stop using the website's services!

Although the website is not specifically intended for persons over 18, the operator does not permit persons under 18 to use the website! For the protection of minors and because of the content of comments posted on the website and the content of private messages, the user or the contact person using the user account must be a person who has reached the age of 18 and is legally competent. The operator further disclaims responsibility if persons under 18 use the website despite this restriction, and, through no fault of the operator, provide their personal data without the consent of their legal representative or access content intended for persons over 18.

The user alone is responsible for the content of user comments and for the accuracy and reliability of information! By starting to use the service, the user acknowledges that they bear full and objective responsibility for the content and lawfulness of comments they post on the website. If the operator notices that any comment may violate this policy, they are entitled to remove the content immediately. The operator draws attention to the fact that website content (independently of the operator) changes continuously!

If, as a result of or in connection with the user's conduct, a third person or any authority or court asserts any claim against the operator or initiates proceedings, the user is obliged to take every measure required by the operator and to reimburse the operator for any damage, financial loss, and cost incurred by the operator due to or in connection with any unlawful conduct of the user.

Automatically generated emails may be sent to the email address provided during registration in cases related to the operation of the website. (E.g.: confirmation email received during registration or other confirmation email.) The operator may also contact the user by personal email. (E.g.: If the user violated the policy and receives individual notice about it.)
The operator does not send newsletters!
The operator does not contact users through the email address provided during registration with any advertising offer!
The operator does not disclose the user's email address to third parties! (Except cooperation with authorities, any legal proceedings.)

The operator does not archive, or only partially archives, content created by the user for a limited time. The privacy policy states exactly what data is stored and for how long.

The website currently does not offer paid services! For advertising placements, please contact the operator about cooperation opportunities!

Restrictions

It is forbidden in content published on the website to:

• Use vulgar expressions, offensive words, expressions that cause outrage or fear in others.
• Make personal attacks, i.e. remarks that may be offensive to others. (Especially remarks that may disturb another user because of their age, gender, origin, religion, race, nationality, worldview, opinion, or life situation.)
• Post content suitable for influencing another user's reputation negatively or positively, regardless of whether it is true or not.
• Post content restricted or prohibited under applicable laws, that may infringe others' copyright, industrial property, or trademark rights, refer to such content, or encourage users to use such content, including intellectual property rights.
• Share quoted phone conversations, email excerpts, or other personal correspondence with or without the other party's knowledge.
• Post data by which the given user can be identified and contacted. E.g. phone number, email address, URL (domain, IP address).
• Post obscene, indecent, or pornographic comments, or offer sexual services.
• Mention prohibited or licensed goods or services in any context. (e.g. narcotics, psychotropic substances, weapons, medicines, counterfeit products, human or animal organs, archaeological finds, prohibited equipment, stolen goods, tobacco products, illegal websites)
• Publish content or link to content that may harm or endanger the operator's good reputation, business interests, general standing, and especially the reputation of its services. Call for a boycott of the operator's services.
• Make deleted user content available again in any way, or register again after deleting the user's registration.
• Deliberately hinder the service (E.g.: flood, offtopic, script comments)
• Deliberately mislead other users, or those expecting help or answers to their questions in any subject area.
• Appear, refer to, or act in the name of another user or an employee or representative of the operator.
• Disparage a business's products, services, or good reputation, or make offensive statements about them.
• Post any infringing content, call for unlawful acts or crimes, or engage in conduct suggesting this, or provide any information facilitating the commission of crimes or misdemeanors. Publish or encourage calls for acts contrary to good morals.
• Publish advertising or announcements. Use the website's services for business or advertising-marketing purposes. Engage in any activity suitable for promoting commercial economic activity. (E.g.: product recommendation, distribution.)

The operator is entitled to remove content that is unlawful or violates the policy or ethical rules.
The operator reserves the right to decide what constitutes a violation!
The operator is entitled to delete or restrict the user's account or access due to the user's conduct!

The operator cooperates with authorities under applicable laws to hold persons committing infringements accountable. The service may be used only within the framework of applicable laws, without prejudice to the rights of third persons and the operator, and in compliance with this policy. If any user uses the service in violation of this policy or the law, or otherwise abusively, the operator is entitled to take the necessary legal steps to ensure the user is held accountable. The measure may also be applied against a user who abuses other persons' data.

It is forbidden to use any activity or program by which files building the website or the database behind the website can be modified, or which endangers the proper operation of the service. It is forbidden to engage in any activity aimed at or likely to cause shutdown of the servers used to operate the website. It is forbidden to engage in any activity aimed at access to data in the database behind the website! It is forbidden to gain unauthorized access to personal and other data in the operator's possession, destroy, damage, or disclose them, and to engage in other hacker activity! The operator disclaims liability for such conduct; only the person committing it bears liability for the damage caused. Such activity entails criminal proceedings!
