The Hayabusa-2 spacecraft has successfully completed its second landing on the Ryugu asteroid to collect samples from the artificial crater it created in April, reported the JAXA Japanese space agency. The asteroid, orbiting 280 million kilometers from Earth, touched down for a few seconds. During the brief landing, it fired a metal projectile into the ground using a special mechanism to collect samples from the rising dust. In the meantime, it has already returned to its 20-kilometer orbit around the asteroid.
