Fast radio bursts are impulses that last only milliseconds and, according to our current knowledge, originate from far-off galaxies. The SETI Breakthrough Listen research team is currently examining already discovered radio waves and trying to find new ones that could be traces of extraterrestrial civilizations. Researchers recently noticed several previously unrecognized radio bursts in an earlier recording.
They are using artificial intelligence to better understand the mysterious radio signals that have already been discovered.
Scientists are now investigating radio burst signals that have arrived from three billion light-years away, and we currently do not know exactly where they come from or what they might be, whether from highly magnetized neutron stars or potentially revealing signs of an advanced alien civilization.
